Snowy Range Sunset

After several days of photographing completely cloudless skies in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming (bummer), we headed south to the Snowy Range. And we arrived just in time for a magnificent sunset – what a treat!

Hiamovi Sunset

The first time you visit a new place, especially one that is remote and not well known, it takes a day or two to learn how the light falls across the landscape. Even planning with the best of tools – Google Earth, The Photographer’s Ephemeris, topo maps & compass, we really needed to see for ourselves what the light would do at sunset and sunrise. Las Cruces Sunset

I know its been a long time since my last post. I’ve been putting in long hours at work. Hopefully, things will slow down a bit and I’ll be able to enjoy the outdoors a bit more as winter turns to spring.
President’s Day Weekend allowed for a long weekend and we went south to visit family. New Mexico can produce some of the most beautiful sunsets. Here is an image from the Las Cruces area on Feb 16, 2009…
