Day 41 - Travel to Switzerland

Today we traveled all the way from Riomaggiore, Italy to Interlaken Switzerland. The trains were running late in Italy and we had an extremely close call in Milan when switching trains. We literally ran from one train to another, checking the display board to find the next train platform as we flew by. As luck would have it, the next train was at the opposite end of the station. As we ran towards the train we saw the conductor at the end of the cars just starting to step on. Somehow, she caught our eye and knew that we were headed her way. She motioned for us to hurry and waited for us before stepping on. The train was moving before we even stepped into the seating area of the rear-most car. That was too close! If we had missed that train, the next one did not leave for another 4 hours...

The rest of the trip went smoothly and we arrived in beautiful Switzerland that evening. We found the bar with the backpacker hostel upstairs, where we were staying and found out that we had a room all to ourselves! We had a simple dinner at the bar and relaxed in our room planning tomorrow's adventures.
