The Huaqing Hot Springs

The next stop on our all-day tour was the Huaqing Hot Springs, about 18 miles East of Xi'an in the foothills of Li Shan (Black Horse Hill). This is a popular scenic park which has been enjoyed by Emperors since the Zhou Dynasty of the 8th century B.C. It is, perhaps, best known as the winter residence of Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Guifei (shown below at the front of the Dragon Pool). You can stroll among the gardens, pagodas and bath houses, and splash your face or take a drink of the good fortuned water.
