The
Shaanxi History Museum & Xing Qing Gong Park
 A
coworker was kind enough to accompany us to the local Shaanxi History Museum
which provided us with a great overview of the history of Xi'an and the
surrounding area. The museum is wonderfully organized in chronological
order, dynasty by dynasty and shows the progression and evolution of the
culture and art of the Chinese civilization. We spent about 3 hours at the
museum, and I highly recommend this attraction. It would be a great way to
start off your visit to Xi'an as it will provide a context to much you will
see in and around the city.
After the museum we decided to grab some snacks and take a relaxing walk
and picnic in one of the local parks. Xing Qing Gong park is located just
Southeast of the city wall and is not frequented by many foreigners. But it
offered a great respite from the hustle of the city and tourist attractions.
